My Elephant Obsession

Sooo... today I went thrift shopping with my girlfriend and bought yet another elephant pendant. I have developed an obsession and thought it's only right that I catalog it.

Left is my favorite ring, which I wear daily on my left thumb. I bought it from a local vendor during my campus's weekly "Market Wednesday." I absolutely love it. No matter how many times I've been convinced I've lost it (it is loose enough that with some water involved it can easily slip off) it has always found its way back!

Right are my pendants! Top Left: Can't remember where I got this! Probably Forever! Top Right: This is the pendant I bought today at a local thrift store, Avant Garb. Bottom Left: Forever 21! Bottom Right: I actually got this pendant (and a chain for it) at a craft store!

In western cultures, elephants represent good luck. Although most assume it carries over from eastern culture... it doesn't! at all! BUT most cultures appreciate their intelligence and respect them because of it.

Also... I have previously made elephant shoes, above!!

Life Lesson

This week has been crazy! Not only did Wednesday start the beginning of classes but because our secretary at work quit (without 2 weeks notice) I've been working extra hours (and NOT doing what I was hired to do). This has led me to a life lesson...

LIFE LESSON:
NEVER take it out on the person answering the phone.

There are many reasons for this, namely being a nice person, but others include:
1. I cannot remember the last time I saw a place where the person who answered the phone was the person IN CHARGE. They are almost always relaying information.
2. This may be true, but being nice and to the point can get you somewhere... People will go the extra mile when they can.
3. It's also true that although YOU think your situation is SPECIAL... it likely isn't.
